metatext: its a response to gig economy and the ongoing exploitation of every little space our particular brand of neoliberal capitalism can find;) while at the same time systematically overlooking but depending on invisible work done by who needs to to survive or thrive (often marginalized groups, that too is systemic; make everything so that the only strategies left keep the system alive by provioding vital functions, there is no choice)
everything is a service now and if you don’t play along you just get exploited doubly (by providing the work for free that m̶e̶n̶ other people then directly oder indirectly make money off.
following that logic, it seems putting a price on all the emotional and other work that happens all the time that i rarely get proper wertschätzung for, is the only way to receive that wertschätzung, by making it visible, but also speakable. the next time i’m forced to process the emotions of some dude in a working group setting i can afterwards point him to my website and tell him how much he owes me, or will, the next time that happens.
its self-aware and ironic, humor is a solution when there are few others, cuz ofc i’d prefer not living in a world where this project makes sense, but alas, the world is not like that. but also ofc i really do mean it, and really do do it, so reach out, it’s worth it.
